Bright Spark Group provides professional solar panel cleaning and system health checks across Ipswich, Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast and Toowoomba. Every clean is done by our own licensed, SAA-accredited electricians, not a cleaning contractor. We wash your panels, check your inverter, isolators and cabling, and give you a clear report on how your system is actually performing. We have installed 2,463 solar and battery systems, so we know exactly what to look for.
Tell us about your system and we will confirm a time. An additional callout fee applies outside our standard area.
Anyone with a ladder can wash your panels. Our team are licensed, SAA-accredited electricians who design, install and repair solar and battery systems every day, the same people who know which isolators fail in Queensland heat and which inverter faults actually matter. A cleaning contractor can tell you your panels are clean. We can tell you whether your system is safe.
If our health check finds a problem, we quote it and can fix it ourselves, you are not stuck explaining the issue to a second company.
Solar panel cleaning with Bright Spark Group starts from $800, including a full electrical health check, not just a wash. Pricing is based on system size, all prices ex GST.
If we find bird nests or heavy debris on the day, we will assess it on-site and quote that separately before doing anything extra, no surprise charges.
Most residential systems, 15 to 25 panels, take around 2 hours on site, including the full health check. Roof access is via anchor points and harness, a proper safety setup, not a ladder leant against the gutter.
This is not a quick look, it is the same checklist our electricians use on every job. Inverter and switchboard: shutdown procedure and safety stickers current, correct breaker labelling, breaker condition and sizing. Panels: damage, moisture ingress, discolouration, plus a thermal scan for internal damage and hot spots most cleaners cannot check for. Mounting: frame and rail corrosion, bolts and clamps secure, no shading from overgrown trees. Cabling: roof clearance, earth continuity, cable gland and isolator condition, no water ingress.
If we find anything unsafe, we are required to make it safe on the spot, that is included in your clean price, not billed separately. If it is a non urgent repair, you will get a quote within 24 hours, and nothing happens without your approval.
If your system is 8 to 10 plus years old, it may be producing noticeably less than when it was installed. Our health check shows you exactly how it is performing now, so you can decide whether to maintain it, repair it, or consider an upgrade. If you are still on the original 44 cent Solar Bonus Scheme feed in tariff, that is worth factoring in before making any changes, ask us if you are not sure.
We also offer ongoing maintenance packages with scheduled service reminders, so you are not relying on memory to keep your system in good health.
We provide solar panel cleaning and health checks across South East Queensland, based from Raceview. Standard service area: Ipswich, Springfield, Boonah, Logan and Brisbane. Extended area, a $300 callout applies: Gatton, Esk, Redlands, the Gold Coast, Coomera to Robina, Toowoomba and Kilcoy. Not sure if you’re in range? Call 1300 773 766 and we’ll confirm. For solar installations outside these areas, see our Solar Systems page, we install Australia wide.
For most homes in South East Queensland, once a year is plenty. You may need a clean every six months if you are near a highway, farmland, construction, the coast or trees, if birds roost on your roof, or if your panels are mounted flat or at a low tilt.
See more in our solar maintenance myths debunked.
Partly. Rain washes off light dust, but it doesn’t shift bird droppings, sap, lichen or baked on grime. On low tilt panels it can leave a muddy film along the bottom edge. If your output has dropped or you can see marks from the ground, rain isn’t doing the job.
Not if it’s done properly. Manufacturers generally warn against high pressure water, abrasive tools and harsh chemicals, since those can damage the glass coating or seals. We clean with water and the right technique, in line with manufacturer guidelines. Pressure washers and walking on panels are what actually cause warranty problems, which is part of why we don’t recommend doing it yourself.
We don’t recommend it. Roof work is the real risk, and it’s also the reason a professional clean is worth more than the wash itself, ours comes with a full electrical health check of your inverter, isolators and cabling, including a thermal scan for hidden hot spots. That’s not something you can do from the garden hose.
Check your inverter app or monitoring. If generation has dropped compared with the same time last year in similar weather, dirt could be the cause, or there could be a fault. A clean and health check will tell you which.
A cleaner washes your panels. We’re licensed electricians and SAA-accredited solar installers, so alongside the clean we test the electrical side of your system, check your inverter, and can quote and repair anything we find, the same day, without needing a second company.
For a full breakdown of what should be checked and when, see our solar system maintenance guide.
Yes, commercial, industrial, school and farm systems, quoted individually based on size, roof access and safety requirements. Maintenance contracts are available.
Not necessarily. We need roof access and access to your inverter, if your inverter is inside the house, someone will need to be home, otherwise it’s not required.
We shut your solar system down during the clean for safety, as part of our standard procedure. Your household power stays on from the grid the whole time.
You’ll get a written report by email explaining what we found. If something needs fixing, we’ll send a quote within 24 hours, and nothing gets done without your approval. The one exception is safety, if we find a genuine fault, a damaged isolator, water in electrical components, we’re required as licensed electricians to make it safe before we leave. That’s included in your clean price, not billed separately.
Only if it’s unsafe. Most issues can wait for your approval on a quote. If something is a genuine safety risk, we’ll isolate that part of the system, your household power stays on, but your solar won’t generate until it’s repaired.
Yes, with the right anchor points and harness setup. A $400 surcharge applies.
Not as a preventative service, we don’t install bird proofing mesh or barriers. If birds have nested under your panels, we’ll remove the nest as part of your clean, quoted on the spot once we see it, and note any cabling damage in your report.
From $800 for systems up to 16 panels, up to $1,200 for larger residential systems, all ex GST, every price includes the full electrical health check, not just the wash. A $400 surcharge applies for two storey or steep roofs.
It depends on your roof tilt, location and system age, but the real value is the health check, not just the wash. We measure your system’s output before and after the clean, adjusted for real light conditions on the day, so you can see the actual difference, not a guess.

What a great company! We came across Brite Spark at the Ipswich Show a number of years ago and decided on them to install a solar system. Unfortunately this was unable to go ahead due to a damaged roof. They identified the issue straight away and were great about it all, refunding our deposit promptly. Fast forward to now, we locked in install of a battery and bigger system and they were fantastic. We had a small hiccup with the roof (again, no fault of Brite Spark) which they gladly waited out until it was resolved in a few weeks. Their communication is excellent, they are very prompt and it was a good clean job. Pricing was competitive (not the cheapest) but given the ease of dealing with them and quality of job it was absolutely worth paying a little more. Great company, highly recommend them.Posted on Google![]()
