Rebate changed from 1 May 2026:
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program STC rebate steps down each year, and changed again from 1 May 2026. Your exact rebate depends on your battery size and installation date — see our full rebate breakdown for current STC factors and effective $/kWh rates.
Eligibility basics:
Applies to new batteries and additional capacity added to existing systems (minimum 5kWh added). Only the first 50kWh of capacity is eligible. The STC rebate for solar panels is separate and unaffected by these battery changes.
Accreditation & Assurance:
All eligible batteries must be approved by the Clean Energy Council. Bright Spark Group holds the required accreditation to install these approved battery systems to Australian safety and performance standards.
